Training FAQ

One of the biggest differences is with Staff PD we come to you and work with your entire staff, and our Educator Trainings are hosted by us and educators come to us. In terms of content, a CharacterStrong Full Staff Professional Development uses the CharacterStrong Circles of Culture (Clarity, Competence, and Consistency) on how to infuse Social Emotional Learning and Character Development into the daily fabric of a school, whereas the 1-2 Day CS Trainings is more of a train the trainer model and meant for school teams to learn how to take both the philosophy and practice of CharacterStrong back to their schools and keep the work moving forward. These trainings are the only place where the S.E.R.V.E. Model is taught, which are low burden and high impact strategies on how to systematically keep the school-wide work around culture and climate development moving forward

Anyone who works with kids in grades K-12. From a building level the ideal team consists of an administrator, counselor, Intervention Specialists, PBIS co-ordinators and influential teachers from your building. This training truly is for everyone that works with students, we have worked with multiple schools that have sent classified staff such as front office staff and custodians.

From a district level anyone that oversees Elementary or Secondary Curriculum would benefit as well as anyone that is involved in developing a school’s climate and culture so Superintendents, PBIS Coaches, MTSS Specialists, Special Services and Guidance Administrators would benefit from attending.

You can read more about what is covered at an Educator Training here. This is a training where educators come to us. Our deeper dive training is where CharacterStrong hosts the training and people register to come to us. Ideally, a school will send a team from their school who will hopefully go back and be champions for CS to be implemented in their school.
Same overall training as the one day, but teams are able to go much more in depth, have conversations and planning as a team and have the ability to ask more questions and dig into implementation scenarios.
Yes, we will provide light breakfast pastries and coffee and lunch. We will send a survey out prior to the training to find out any dietary restrictions.
You can find out our upcoming training locations here. If you don’t see a training near you we would love to work with you to bring one out to your neighborhood. A lot of our trainings are located in areas that have asked for us to come out there and train multiple schools. If it’s a new area for us, we would love to work with you to try and gather at least 40 other individuals to make a training happen. Shoot us a request here.

Miscellaneous FAQ

We send out a weekly blog geared towards educators who believe in Educating Whole Child. This is a great resource that is free for anyone to check out. We also offer webinars each month as well as a podcast we put out once a week. Our podcast are short so educators with little free time can listen in 10-15 minutes on their way to work, during their plan or on their walk through the halls in the morning!
